The official gin produced to celebrate 200 years of the game of rugby.

Bringing the essence of the game into spirit, taking hand selected grass from the original pitch, Old Bigside - where William Webb Ellis first ran with the ball in 1823.

We have sourced some of the finest botanicals from around the globe, from Macedonian Juniper through Orris and Guatemalan Cardamom finishing with bright citrus from Murcia in Spain. 

On the nose: Fresh pine leads melding into soft zesty notes, finishing fresh with tea and lemon.

The palate mirrors the nose starting with clean pine notes, followed by bright orange and citrus, finishing smooth and clean.

This is a special product where at least 30% of all profits benefitting Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby.

Serve over plenty of ice with tonic and garnish with a half-time orange slice.

We recommend this gin as a classical Gin martini or Parisian

For the Parisian take: 

50ml 1823 dry gin 

50ml Creme de Cassis 

50ml good dry vermouth 

Add all into an ice filled shaker and shake until fully mixed and chilled. Double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a twist of lemon.
